Simply stated, we are the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. That includes all women in our church! You don’t have to be part of a circle or sign up to be part of it! The mission of the Women of the ELCA is “to mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.” At Mount Olive, it consists of service, fellowship and educational opportunities, often combining all three into one event!

Mission Statement

To mobilize women to act boldly on their faith in Jesus Christ.

Purpose

As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world.

Women of the ELCA Circles

Circles are small groups of women that gather monthly for Bible study, discussion and spiritual care. No sewing is involved! Circle meetings are a great time for fellowship and forming life-long friendships. Spending time together in Bible study is a wonderful way to learn about the Bible in a comfortable setting. Circles also serve at Fellowship Events sponsored by the Women of the ELCA throughout the year.
To join a circle,  contact the church office or the Women of the ELCA president for contact information.

Study Leaders– Volunteers lead their groups through the Bible study each month. Prior to leading, they meet with Pastor Glenn on the first Tuesday of the month at 5:30 pm for guidance and insight into the study. The Bible study is from Gather magazine.

Most Mount Olive circles take December and the summer months off. Some meeting dates may vary, depending on the school or church calendar. If the Rochester Public Schools close due to weather, the church building also closes, and circle or other events are cancelled.
